Mission

The mission of IV-CHARIS is to reduce the transmission of HIV/AIDS in underserved communities by creating a non-traditional holistic healing environment that is committed to providing safe and confidential testing, education, prevention, and intervention serviced by caring and well-trained people. Our mission greatly aligns with several national organizations such as Healthy people in expanding counseling and testing of HIV/AIDS services and the HSRA in reaching populations most affected by health disparities.

Vision

Our vision is to open a health center where individuals from the state of Ohio will be able to come to receive HIV testing, counseling sessions, intervention/prevention counseling, and many other services that assist individuals suffering with being either infected or affected by this rising epidemic.

Pertinent information

IV-CHARIS is the only faith-based organization in Cincinnati that is state qualified to do HIV/STD testing, counseling, and education. IV-CHARIS is certified by the Ohio Department of Health and highly regarded on a local and state level for its dispensation of quality, state-of-the-art HIV/STD and abstinence services. In response to growing HIV risks in the African-American communities, the organization has grown 100% in the last 2 years and expanded from offering substance abuse preventive services/housing to a myriad of programs in the following five areas: HIV/AIDS testing/screening, risk reduction counseling, referral services, STD education, and He Intends Victory (Support Services). The IV-CHARIS abstinence program provides HIV/AIDS education to court adjudicated youth and those in public and private schools.
